Wednesday 9.45am
– 12 noon:
Oldwood
Pit, Tanhouse Lane, Rangworthy
We have
an almost exclusive use of an upstairs room which is filled with our
natural play materials. It is in a fantastic rural location, with lots
of opportunities for children to experience seasonal life on a working
small holding. The garden is a joy though out the year for children
and adults alike.
Thursday 9.45am
– 11.30am:
Laurel
Cottage, Bath Road, Nailsworth GL6 0QJ
This is Charlotte’s own home.
We begin the morning by
making seasonal craft. The children are free to play during this time
or to join their parents. There are toys to meet most of the needs of
the developing youngster; ovens and pans, beautiful houses, dolls, wooden
bricks, animals and vehicles, and a rocking horse to gallop on.
At the end of playtime our tidying away song is sung as the toys go
back to their places. This is followed by snack time with everyone sitting
around the table to eat organic bread, butter and jam along with drinks
for everyone. (We cater for intolerances and allergies)
After snack time we all help clear away and prepare for outside, donning
appropriate dress – sunhats and sun cream in summer and waterproofs
and wellies on wet days.
We have access to the beautiful garden where we have a sandpit and use
of children’s wheelbarrows, gardening tools and watering cans.
Our outside time is at the children’s pace; sometimes they want
to run around and other times they might just want to quietly watch
the chickens and geese.
After the walk we gather together back upstairs to light the story candle
and have a short seasonal story including simple seasonal songs. It
is nice if parents try to learn these from memory.
We sing our goodbye song and then parents help to tidy away.
The cost is £4.50
(£2.00 for siblings) per session. Fees are payable half termly
in advance.
